Governance

ALU’s governance is strongly committed to inclusivity and diversity.

In 2011, we endorsed the principles of the ETI BASE CODE, which have been integrated into our Health, Safety and Environmental Policy, and are now a structural part of our Integrated Management System.

We believe that both individuals and companies share the responsibility to listen, reflect and act to ensure that our communities are accessible, inclusive and safe for all.

Today, the number of male and female employees is nearly balanced, with over 90% holding permanent contracts and 60% having worked at ALU for more than 10 years.


Welfare

Since 2013, ALU has offered flexible working hours to all employees. This has been expanded to include remote work options (two days per week, or three for those who live further away) and closure of the facility on Friday afternoons, helping employees achieve a better work-life balance.

We promote and implement personnel training programs at all levels, in order to optimise growth of human resources, as a key factor in company development.

We guarantee equal opportunities and freedom of association for every individual who works in our organisation.

Every summer, ALU organizes a company-wide event involving all employees and their families, to strengthen the sense of belonging to an inclusive organization.


Community Engagement

ALU is deeply rooted in its local area and invests heavily in developing local talent.

In fact, 80% of ALU employees were born in the same municipality or nearby towns.

The company is also very active in local schools, welcoming internship students every year as part of the PCTO program (Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation).

We encourage communication at all company levels and with our partners, whom we consider an integral and fundamental part of company activities; that is why we communicate and share information on health, safety and rights in the workplace, environment and sustainability to all stakeholders.
